Heidi and I went out to snap these photos on a crisp clear -20 day in the stunning bow valley. I couldn’t feel my hands or my feet but still managed to get some shots equipped with a set of 10 thumbs and a gorgeous model. It is so easy to forget to look up and realize how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful valley. Most of what inspires me comes from my experiences as a ski racer, being outdoors and surrounded by simple and raw elements. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh snowfall to rediscover your surroundings.
Thanks to my good friend Heidi for taking some time out of her busy training regime (Canadian Olympic hopeful) and letting me snap some pictures of her, she is just as strong and beautiful as the mountains.
Here is a quote I have been thinking of lately:
So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. Colossians 3:12-14 MSG
