Some friends were heading down to Canmore for the weekend so I literally made a last minute decision and caught a ride with them. I never pack much when I visit Michaela because I know I’ll be living in her clothes the entire time anyways! She put together this adorable outfit and I loved wearing it! This Jean vest is the new favourite and I can’t wait to get one for myself. I’ve already worn it a couple times this weekend!
One of the main reasons I love skirts and dresses so much is the feeling of freedom you get from wearing them. I bought these Free People shorts at the beginning of my Maui trip and have been living in them for the past month! They are a nice alternative to a skirt, although they still have the same free feeling. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Mothers day, I love you mama.
It is so nice to have evening light again! I was waiting for a friend to pick me up for dinner and I was so happy I was able to snap these pictures without my winter parka on! Even though there is still snow on the ground there are sure signs that spring is just around the corner!
Now that it’s finally reading week, I’ve had time to indulge in activities other than studying! After my last midterm on Friday, I travelled back home and haven’t cracked open a textbook since. I was rummaging in the back of my closet and found a pair of old, slightly grubby shoes from Wal-Mart so I decided to spice them up a bit! My family just booked our tickets for Hawaii in the spring so I’ve been in the Tropical mood of late. : ) I put on some Jack Johnson and doodled away. This craft was easy and relaxing and I love how they turned out! I was tempted to stick with the black and white but ended up adding some colour anyway. Just imagine long boarding with these, jean shorts, a baggy tank and a topknot! If only I knew how to long board!
In the midst of essay writing and endless readings, I find it difficult to keep up with the rest of my life. Lately I’ve been hitting the snooze button on my alarm countless times before I get out of bed and end up scrambling to get ready…I literally run to school! The days when I drag myself out of bed early usually end up being the best. I have a decent amount of time to enjoy breakfast, pack my lunch and fix myself up nicely. : )
This past week a chinook rolled through town, it was nice to walk out of the house wearing only one layer instead of the usual ensamble of hat, scarf and down jacket. I feel most comfortable when I am in an oversized plaid shirt and jeans. While this outfit is nothing special, its the one I reach for the most!
It felt like spring today! I opened the door in the morning and was greeted by a gust of warm wind and the sound of melting snow dripping from the roof. I was finally able to walk to school without my usual winter jacket and hat combo. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed winter and all the beauty it has brought, the coming of warmer weather will be much anticipated!
It’s hard to get away with dressing up and not wearing big down coats, hats & sorrels. We snapped these pictures in -20 weather, our hands were about to fall off! When you live in thermals and ski touques all the time, top knots are about all you can do with your hair at the end of the day.
I am not a huge sparkle girl, so wearing a dress that looks like a disco ball is a little intimidating to me. When I found this burgundy dress by free people I was really excited to wear it during the holiday season, since it was a little dressier but met all my dress requirements (3/4 length sleeve, empire waistline, shorter hemming). So if you were looking for a different alternative to glitter, then I would highly recommend something of this nature! Plus if you want to wear a touch of glitter you can just hold a cupcake with a giant sparkler, something I will defiantly be doing! Happy New Year everyone!!!
I am so enjoying being home for Christmas. It’s wonderful to take a break from the city and escape to the frosted forest on our acreage! Every Christmas is full of gatherings with friends and family in which everyone feels festive. On a last minute Christmas shopping excursion I found this Joe Fresh polkadot shirt for $5! That, pared with my maroon Zara pants makes me feel quite Christmas-y. : )
