One of the main reasons I love skirts and dresses so much is the feeling of freedom you get from wearing them. I bought these Free People shorts at the beginning of my Maui trip and have been living in them for the past month! They are a nice alternative to a skirt, although they still have the same free feeling. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Mothers day, I love you mama.
I am not a huge sparkle girl, so wearing a dress that looks like a disco ball is a little intimidating to me. When I found this burgundy dress by free people I was really excited to wear it during the holiday season, since it was a little dressier but met all my dress requirements (3/4 length sleeve, empire waistline, shorter hemming). So if you were looking for a different alternative to glitter, then I would highly recommend something of this nature! Plus if you want to wear a touch of glitter you can just hold a cupcake with a giant sparkler, something I will defiantly be doing! Happy New Year everyone!!!
The other day I pulled out one of my summer dresses pairing it with black tights and a cozy sweater from Zara. For the majority of the summer I practically live in dresses but since it gets reeeaally cold where I live they sit in my closet during the long winter months. It’s nice to bring some floral prints back into my life since I have been wearing mostly neutral sweaters and leggings for the past little while!
hope you stay warm!

My friend Collete and I took these shots on one of the Gorge’s windier mornings. As a Hood River Native she is blessed with wavy wind blown hair, an excellent combination when paired with a simple and flowing dress (as seen here). Because hot days are spent on the water, an easy ensemble like this makes for the perfect Gorge approved outfit.
Love this photo by Tim Walker! Flowers can be your greatest accessory. Put on a dress and pick some wild flowers for your outfit!!
We love to showcase pretty dresses as well as family, friends and the talent behind them. Kaleigh Jo Kirk can sing and write her own music while playing almost every musical instrument you can think of. At 14 years old she will be representing Calgary as a Cultural Ambassador. The best part about her is that she is my little cousin and I love her!
Here is her latest song!

This dress would be perfect for a day at the beach! I love how the pretty crochet pattern adds a dimension while still preserving the simplicity of the dress. The necklace completes it so perfectly!
To me, summertime is about simplicity and light fabrics. I love the delicate lace top paired with the flowing peach coloured bottom! Also her peach nails to match. mmm peaches xx
Here is a spirited girl wearing a playful dress! We love the cute flower pattern and the easy style. Most of all, we love the dress matched with a pair of red gum boots and a girl who will splash in the puddles!
Now with the warm weather making it’s long awaited appearance I have been on the hunt for the perfect summer dress! I am hoping for something easy, flowy and figure flattering. When I discovered the dresses above from asos had met all of my hopeful requirements and with so many cute styles to choose from I can’t decide which one to buy! Which dress would you get most wear out of this summer?
