I wouldn’tĀ Ā call myself a skater girl by any means, I mainly use a longboard to get from point A to point B and the reason I would longboard anywhere would be to get lemonade or ice cream and FAST. At first I was a little uncomfortable and couldĀ barely balance on the board when it was motionless. Over time I have found my positioning by trying to keep up with my boyfriend andĀ mimickingĀ his technique, this is a great way to pick up tips! My favorite way to ride is bare foot. Toms, converse and Sanuks all work great, I would not recommend flip flops! The board that I ride is by a brand calledĀ dregs, they are so smooth and stable, if you are just learning the more stable the board, the more confident you will be. If you have ever thought about long boarding I hope this gives you Ā some inspiration to get outside and try it! Borrow a boyfriends (or friends) board and find a parking lot to play around in. IĀ guaranteeĀ they will be happy to show you how its done!
